What a rush of emotions! Now all of the swirling emotions had coalesced into a little girl with a buzz cut who was looking at me with vacant eyes. I was thrilled, but also terrified.

If we do decide to adopt her...what is the chain of events? How long before we would actually fly to China?

Great! Just let me know for sure if you are interested in reviewing her referral.
The chain of events... The first step is to request the referral. Then you would sign the letter of intent (acceptance letter) and write 1-2 paragraphs about how you would meet any physical needs she may have. Once that is sent to me, I would then write a little information about your family, and then send it to China. Once China receives it, they would expedite your dossier, and send the travel letter about 2.5-3 months later. Then you would be added into the next travel group which could be as soon as 2-3 weeks later, or up to 6-8 weeks later.
