Gettiing Sydney - Day 9

Today we moved from the Asia International Hotel to the Garden Hotel. The Garden Hotel has a much fancier lobby and an awesome garden area in the back with a 3 or 4 story waterfall and duck pond, but the rooms are a good deal smaller. It's a lot more convenient though because we are now right across the street from the Friendship store and from the McDonald's and Pizza Hut.

We are having such a good time loving on Sydney...she is such a good-natured child. She has phases during the day where she is very active and wants to romp and make noise, and other parts of the day she wants to be quiet and do things softly. During those times I love to just hold her, lean over her fuzzy little head, smell her and feel the warmth of her rising up to me. I had forgotten how much fun it is to have a little one in the house...we might have to do this again next year :)

Here are a few pictures of Sydney and her sisters playing in the morning:

Sydney just amazes us with her impersonations...here she is pretending to be a plumber:

After we packed up our rooms the girls played in the empty room with their friend Kasity

We always get a kick out of the English translations that we see in China. A friend of mine that I used to work with is from China and she calls in "Chinglish". For example, we were in the Shanghai airport and there was a sign by an elevator that read "The lift goes don't to the toilet". There are a lot of pirated DVD's around here and we saw "Revenge of the Sith" with a tagline of "The Saga has Beginning". If you're a computer geek like me you've probably heard of "All you base are belong to us".

Here's a sign that was in our bathroom:

Around 12:30 we left the Asia Int'l and moved to the Garden Hotel. It's only a few blocks up the street so it was a fast trip. Here are a few shots of us exploring our new room:

Sydney looking down over the city of Guangzhou:

Not too far from the hotel we found a little silk shop and London bought this outfit so she could fit into the Asian world:

After lunch I was digging through our "44 pounds of food" suitcase and found this little goodie...thanks Mom!!!

After Sydney gobbled down a cup of Lipton Noodle Soup and some crackers...she sacked out:

I told you this girl likes to eat...here she is dreaming that she's eating a hamburger and fries:

And here she is at dinner time wanting even more!

We met up with our friends, the Adams, today who flew in this weekend from another province (All 3 of our families were together in Beijing, but they went to a different province last week to pick up their child.) Now we're all together again and boy how our lives have changed in that short amount of time. We all went out to eat at a local restaurant tonight...that's where the above picture was taken.

When we got back to the hotel we walked through the garden area and let Sydney see the Coys and ducks:

We're now over the half way mark...it's hard to believe that next Saturday we'll be home with our new daughter. It's aggravating to have to stay over here for so long, but it has really been nice to spend so much time with Sydney. She is a very friendly child and should be able to give lots of good snuggles to everyone. If she can get used to a furry faced dog-boy like me...I'm sure she'll be able to love on friends and family.

Have a great Saturday everyone...we sure did.
